Cara Cotellese, Professor of Electronic Media at Kutztown University

 

Cara teaches part time for Bucks County Community College.  Her experience in the field of television production allowed her to create the online public speaking course for Bucks County Community College.  Cara has been teaching in Higher Ed for a total of 24 years. She is currently working towards a PhD in Learning Sciences and Technology at Lehigh University.

Mary Ellen Bornak, Instructional Designer at Bucks County Community College

Mary’s mission is to help faculty design their courses for online learning and to coach them in the use of multimedia and web 2.0 tools to accomplish this task. Her first career was journalism which culminated as editor-in-chief of Philadelphia Metro newspaper. She has a Master’s in Instructional Technology from Philadelphia University and BA from Holy Family University.

Robin Eisenberg, Director of Learning and Development, Pearson VUE

 

Robin manages a small and mighty team that creates new learning, organizational effectiveness, and strategic solutions for the global People (Human Resources) department. Robin completed her Masters in Instructional Technology Management at LaSalle University in 2010 (part of the first class of learners) and applies what she learned in this program every day.

 

Brandon Carper, Instructional Technologist, Pearson VUE

 

Brandon specializes in using technology to save people time and help them learn. At Pearson VUE, he has played key roles in on-line initiatives for goal-setting, performance reviews, and new employee on-boarding. He has 6 years’ experience in delivering various types of instruction, having worked as a high school teacher, English language trainer, and corporate instructional designer. He received his B.A. in English and Secondary Education from Grove City College, and he is currently completing his M.S. in Instructional & Performance Technology through Boise State University.

 

Susan Boyd, Susan Boyd Associates

 

Susan has over 35 years experience in the training and computer education field and extensive experience in planning, managing, and delivering computer training projects. Susan is a national conference speaker, including many PADLA conferences over the years, and is a published author of over 30 articles in training journals. She has also been a judge for the Brandon Hall e-Learning Awards since 2002. Susan has designed and presented training courses and materials in a variety of formats including instructor-led, webinars and e-Learning.

Dr. David Gibson, Vice President of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education

 

The creator of simSchool, Dr. David Gibson, is Associate Research Professor and Vice-President of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education. Stacy Kruse leads the development team and will join via telecom.

 

Dave Smelser, Director Technology Group, Intuition

 

Dave leads Intuition’s Technology group in North America. After graduating with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Decision and Information Sciences from the University of Florida, Dave worked in Software Integration on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and as a senior advisor in Ernst & Young’s Technology and Security Risk Services (TSRS) practice. By combining a deep understanding of Information Technology with a strong business background, Dave helped Intuition design and deliver its robust mobile technology suite and assisted Intuition clients in measuring the value gained through its use.

Wilbert J. Roget, Assoc Professor of French & Francophone Studies, Temple University

 

Wilbert received his Ph. D. in French from the University of Pittsburgh. He is presently serving as Chair of the Department of French/German/Italian/Slavic (FGIS) at Temple University. His area of specialization is the literatures and cultures of Francophone communities in Africa and the Caribbean where he has traveled and done research. In addition to his literary interests in France and the Francophone world, he has maintained a keen interest in assuring that the teaching of French be kept abreast of developments in the pedagogy of second language learning and teaching. Over the past three years in FGIS he has taken the lead in exploring the effective use of technology in the teaching of languages, and has encouraged colleagues in his department to offer foreign language courses online. Prior to coming to Temple University, Roget was a professor at Tufts University in Medford (MA) and Chairman of Modern Languages at Lincoln University (PA). Roget’s country of origin is the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies.

 

Carly Haines, M.A., Technical Support Specialist for Distance Learning and Summer Programs, Temple University

 

Carly works closely with faculty and students to ensure their successful use of the various virtual learning platforms available for online learning courses. Carly received her B.A. from Ursinus College in Media and Communication Studies and Spanish and later attended Temple University for her Master’s in the School of Communications, Theater, Broadcasting, Telecommunication, and Mass Media. Currently, Carly is working towards her Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration with a focus on educational technology and an emphasis in online learning.

 

Mary Imbornone, National Director of Organizational Learning at Devereux

 

Mary’s background includes 35 years experience in non-profit behavioral health services in areas that include learning, quality improvement, program administration and  leadership development.  Mary’s primary objective is insuring that Devereux‘s systems and learning resources effectively engage employees, build competency and support workplace performance at all levels of the organization.

 

Jeremy Aho, Manager of Learning Innovation at Devereux

 

Using skills and experiences from 12 years in the non-profit behavioral health services industry as a human resources and learning professional, Jeremy's mission is to implement efficient, effective means to transfer learning to Devereux's 6000+ distributed workforce. An expert in

learning technologies and e-Learning, he and his team create high quality, innovative solutions to learning and performance needs. Jeremy has been a member of PADLA since 2005.

 

Nick Floro, President of Sealworks Interactive Studios

 

Nick has over 20 years of experience developing e-Learning solutions, applications and web platforms. He has worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies to help them understand technology and develop innovative solutions to help their teams and customer base. In 2011 Nick designed and launched a new web application, LaunchCycle.com, to help developers and designers manage projects simply. Nick has won several awards from Apple and Fortune 500 organizations for his productions and services. Nick is passionate about how technology can enhance learning and loves to share his knowledge and experience to teach, inspire and motivate.

Stephanie Laggini Fiori is Associate Director of Temple's Teaching and Learning Center and Adjunct Associate Professor at the French, German, and Italian Department.


Dominique Kliger is Assistant Vice Provost and Director of Temple's Distance Learning and Summer Programs.


Istvan Varkonyi is Director of Temple's General Education Program.

 

Barry A. Berger is Professor of Regulatory Affairs, Temple University, School of Pharmacy, QA/RA Graduate Program. Prior to joining the full time faculty, he had been a corporate lawyer in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech Industries serving in senior positions with both multinational and startup companies.

 

Dan Hoffmaster, Business Manager of Learning Systems at TE Connectivity

 

Dan works for a global company of 90,000+ employees. He has previous roles as an eLearning developer and project manager and has worked closely with an India-based vendor over the past 3 years. He has a MS in Instructional Technology and a BS in Computer Science & Mathematics from Bloomsburg University.

 

Constance Bille, M.Ed., Director Organizational Development & Training, LRA Worldwide, Inc

 

Conni brings a wealth of experience, having spent much of her career conceiving and executing projects on the bleeding edge of instructional technology, and is also equally at home in soft skills.  She has held instructional design and management positions at IMS Health, SAP and Towers Perrin on the client side; and at Educational Communications Inc., AT&T Learning and, presently, LRA Worldwide Inc. on the consultant side.  She has produced multimedia for many clients including Merck, Pfizer, Genentech, Astra-Zeneca and DuPont.  At LRA, she consults with Starwood Hotels, Regal Hotels (Hong Kong), the National Basketball Association, Philadelphia Airport Marketplace and Saskatchewan Gaming, to name a few.  Conni has served in regional and national leadership positions in ASTD and STC and has addressed their national conferences.  Besides PADLA, she is currently a member of ISPI.  She has published in journals including Training. She has a B.A in English from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Educational Media/Training from Temple University.

Dr. Jim Brown, Associate Professor of Science at Ocean County College New York

 

Dr. Brown has received numerous awards for innovative practices in health care, nursing, science, public health, and for his pioneering work in online instruction. He pioneered New Jersey City University’s first online courses and has been a developer/co-designer of over 40 online courses. Dr. Brown just received New Jersey’s highest award in public health, the Dennis J. Sullivan Award, for his lifetime achievement in Public Health. He was the principle investigator on a $458,000 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s New Jersey Health Initiatives (NJHI) Workforce Agenda Grant to develop an online education model to address shortages of RNs in the hospital setting.

 

Stephanie Fillman, Project Manager, Lernia Training Solutions

As a training consultant and project manager Stephanie is responsible for instructional design quality and assists her clients in providing training solutions for compliance, business process, system application, and new hire training programs. Stephanie has over eighteen years experience in developing classroom instruction and e-learning courses in the financial services and biopharmaceutical industries. She is a certified professional in learning and performance by ASTD (CPLP) since 2006.

Todd Cameron, Information Developer

As Information Developer for Vertex Inc., a tax compliance software company in Berwyn, PA, Todd has designed numerous interactive tutorials, on-line help systems, job aids, and technical documents. Todd has won several awards for on-line tutorial development, help systems, and technical documentation from the Society of Technical Communication. Todd holds a Master’s of Education in Instructional Systems/Training and Development from Penn State. He has served on the advisory board for Eastern University’s Degree Completion Program.
