    • Shaunak Roy holds an undergraduate degree in engineering from IIT Bombay and a graduate degree in engineering systems from MIT.  Shaunak spent almost a decade in various engineering and management roles before starting Yellowdig in 2014. Yellowdig is a digital solution that powers lifelong learning. Through a gamified peer learning approach, Yellowdig substantially improves engagement and retention rates of programs; from pre-enrollment, through all aspects of student life (support services, student groups, courses, cohorts, communities, etc.), to alumni and lifelong learning initiatives.
    • Michael Eiseman was a chemical engineer with DuPont Research and Development for 30 years. In the evenings Mike volunteer tutored high school students in math and science and developed a vision for software to help his students called Algebra By Hand. He created this software and now works full time with teachers, improving and marketing it as a product. Algebra By Hand is a web application that makes students faster, more accurate, and more confident at solving algebra problems. Students solve linear equations using drag and drop gestures that reduce their cognitive load and allow them to explore more efficient solving strategies. Algebra By Hand grades students' assignments automatically and provides helpful feedback to students as well as useful analytics to teachers allowing them to grade less and teach more. Integrated with Google Classroom, Canvas and D2L, Algebra By Hand can be used in a classroom or tutoring environment.
    • Mustafa Sualp is the CEO and servant leader of AEFIS a SaaS Assessment Management Platform for HigherEd. As a serial technology entrepreneur,  Mustafa  established his first business, Untra Corporation in 1999. He then started his next venture, AEFIS, in 2012 to provide institutions of higher education a practical software solution to help ease the pains associated with assessment and accreditation through better data and analytics. AEFIS mission is to create meaningful value from assessment for learning to enhance student and faculty experience. AEFIS passion is to empower students with evidence of their learning through Comprehensive Learner Records (CLRs). In 2016, AEFIS was recognized as the 81st fastest-growing, privately held company by the Philadelphia 100.
    • Ethan Keiser: Founder & CEO StudyTree. StudyTree integrates academic support services of higher education institutions with artificial intelligence to provide students with a mobile academic assistant. The software analyzes students’ grades and behavioral patterns to construct customized recommendations to improve their academic performance. Additionally, StudyTree serves advisors and administrators by providing them managerial access to the application, which enables insight to useful statistics and an overview of each student’s individual progress.

Venture Cafe Panel Discussion: "Placemaking" (5:30-6:30PM)

Placemaking in Philadelphia will inform attendees on how Philadelphia, and more specifically West Philadelphia, has grown and developed throughout history. It will teach attendees about placemaking, the approach to urban planning that capitalizes on a community’s assets and culture and will highlight groups and individuals who are helping Philadelphia grow up great, either through their research, their organization, or through their individuality.

Venture Café Workshop: "Agile Leadership: A Methodology for Startup Founders & Executives" (4:30-5:30PM) | Kelley DeSantis

The Agile process affords development teams to shift focus quickly, address issues faster, and use resources more effectively and efficiently. The demands of a startup founder or executive change just as drastically as a software developer. So, why not apply the same methodology to management? Learn how Agile Leadership affords you to leverage lean startup practices and execute in all areas that demand your attention, so that your company can grow.

This year's full-day event will focus on Corporate, Non-Profit, Govt', Higher Ed, K12 perspectives featuring:

    • Keynote: "Teaching Truth in the Era of Fake News" by Kimberly Rotter
      • Abstract: Using the Internet has become fundamental for academic/professional achievement as well as active participation in our democracy, yet people lack the essential skills to effectively use this digital tool in a “post-truth” culture. Most of us lack the skills to effectively identify credible online information, which diminishes the educational impact of search engines and creates confusion on current/historical events and political issues. To be successful online instructors, learners and citizens, we all must master the skills of healthy skepticism and bias recognition. With the 2020 Presidential election quickly approaching, this timely keynote presentation will detail the extent of the truth crisis and lay out the skills needed to become responsible digital instructors/learners/citizens.
    • Over 15+ concurrent sessions on a wide variety of topics
    • Solutions Providers Expo
    • Valuable Prizes
    • Great Food
    • And ample opportunities to expand your personal professional Learning Technology/Methodology network
